The effort is to constantly raise the levels of competency and capabilities of our personnel by facilitating or providing the necessary inputs and an environment that promotes both professional and personal growth. This approach hones, improves and enhances their skills and makes the organisation stronger. The Knowledge and skills of our personnel are continually upgraded through a variety of training programs, workshops and seminars, both internal as well as external.
We are moving rapidly towards being a knowledge based society and to be a successful organisation we realise the importance of growing the value of our intellectual capital. To be in the lead, we have made learning and development a priority for both, businesses and individuals. While the best personnel are seeking opportunities to learn and grow in the workplace, Espire is looking at ways of developing the critical skills that the business needs, managing the valuable organisational knowledge more effectively and using technology to more efficiently and effectively deliver learning and development programs.
We proactively and systematically identify training needs with the help of various processes; Organisational requirement driven trainings, Individual specific requirements (Needs identified in the Performance Review and Development Plan) and Project Specific Requirements. Accordingly, these needs are consolidated under the following types of trainings:
- Induction Program: This training is meant for all the new joinees at Espire irrespective of their grade to ensure that every one receives orientation on the Espire standards, systems and processes. This includes a thorough orientation on ISO 9001:2008, ISO 27001:2005 and CMMI Level 5 processes and is backed up with the hard copies detailing the systems, processes and reports to adhere to a day-to-day basis. Access is also provided to a proprietary web-based repository of all such standards and policies.
- Technical Trainings: Technical Trainings are organised on a regular basis in order to address the needs of on going projects or for catering to the needs of the future or whenever a new technology is to be adopted by Espire. Such trainings are conducted once in a fortnight. These are also termed as Technology Sessions. Aiming at presentations and lectures to update the knowledge of the IT employees in the latest trends as well as upcoming technologies. Technology Courses of 15 day duration are also conducted on a quarterly basis. These are invariably conducted by outside agencies specialising in the topics to be covered. Espire also encourages its personnel to participate in trainings conducted by organisations like Oracle, SUN, Microsoft, IBM on their latest products and at the same time has an on-going scheme of reimbursing all costs towards getting themselves certified for such specialised courses.
- Quality Management System Trainings: Continuous trainings on various quality accreditations is part of the curriculum at Espire. We engage various organisations like KPMG, Ernst & Young, Quality Assurance Group (QAG is one of India's leading accreditation and quality related training organisation) to conduct trainings for our personnel. KPMG, Intertek has certified Espire to be ISO 9001:2008, ISO 27001:2005 and SEI CMMI Level 5 and consequently not only do they impart trainings but also audit our processes on a half yearly basis. Apart from these, conduct periodic in-house sessions are also conducted in every quarter for addressing the areas identified as necessary for re-training.
- Soft Skills Training: These are need-based trainings and generally constitute topics related to business matters, behavior and knowledge attributes.
